The Mystery of GOD

The Mystery of God.

Revelation 10:7 KJV
[7] But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Those who have studied revelation chapter 10 will be familiar with the events mentioned there, Noteably the little book that was sweet in the mouth and bitter in the belly.
So we know that the time covered speaks of 1844 and the great disapointment. But connected with this is the Mystery of God which shall be finished in those days.
What is that Mystery?
Ephesians 3:1-5 KJV
[1] For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, [2] If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: [3] How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, [4] Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) [5] Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
And Again in
Romans 16:25-27 KJV
[25] Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, [26] But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: [27] To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
The prophet Isaiah spoke this.
Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
We read the interpretation in
Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
If we consider the parable of the sower in Mark 4 it also speaks of the Mystery
Mark 4:11 KJV
[11] And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
Mark 4:3
Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
Mark 4:8
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
So what is that Seed?
Mark 4:14 KJV
[14] The sower soweth the word.
Mark 4:20 KJV
[20] And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it , and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
This seed, the word of God sown in our lives is this mystery.
Colossians 1:26-27 KJV
[26] Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: [27] To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
How was that mystery Manifest?
Romans 8:3
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
the word here rendered likeness mean the shape or similitude. To be made like.
Hebrews 4:15
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Being made of the same flesh, how was he without sin?
Philippians 2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
The Seed is the mind of Christ, and we have his word, a reflection of his thoughts and feelings towards us.
And What are thoughts and feelings combined?
..thoughts and feelings combined make up the moral character.
{2MCP 593.1}
So as we read before in Colossians 1, the mystery is Christ in us, the hope of Glory
And how is Christ to dwell in us?
Ephesians 3:17
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
And what is Faith?
FAITH is the expecting the word of God to do what it says, and the depending upon that word to do what it says. {December 27, 1898 ATJ, ARSH 832.1}
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
[16] And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Getting back to Revelations chapter 10 then
So…what is the mystery of God? “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” “God . . . manifest in the flesh.” Then in these days that mystery is to be finished in one hundred and forty-four thousand people. God’s work in human flesh, God being manifested in human flesh, in you and me, is to be finished. His work upon you and me is to be finished. We are to be perfected in Jesus Christ. By the Spirit we are to come unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
“Christian perfection” – A T Jones. July 18, July 25, August 1, 1899
Then the mystery of God is God manifest in you and me who believe. …
Do not forget, either, that the mystery of God is not God manifest in sinless flesh, but God manifest in sinful flesh. There could never be any mystery about God’s manifesting Himself in sinless flesh–in one who had no connection whatever with sin. That would be plain enough. But that He can manifest Himself in flesh laden with sin and with all the tendencies to sin, such as ours is–that is a mystery. Yea, it is the mystery of God. And it is a glorious fact, thank the Lord! RH Sept. 29, 1896
