The Mystery of GOD

The Mystery of God.

Revelation 10:7 KJV
[7] But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
Those who have studied revelation chapter 10 will be familiar with the events mentioned there, Noteably the little book that was sweet in the mouth and bitter in the belly.
So we know that the time covered speaks of 1844 and the great disapointment. But connected with this is the Mystery of God which shall be finished in those days.
What is that Mystery?

Ephesians 3:1-5 KJV
[1] For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, [2] If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: [3] How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, [4] Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) [5] Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

Does doing your own thing, does it really make you happy?

I was pondering today while doing the ironing the whole “do what thou wilt” philosophy that Aleister Crowley advocated and how it has morphed into the current zeitgeist. Do your own thing, do what you want, all these are the principals that underlying current culture.

At face value they may appear to offer happiness, joy and pleasure. But do they actually deliver?

This school of thought gives rise to an uncontrolled appetite. And by appetite, I don’t merely mean for food. Continue reading

A Quick Thought On The End Of The World

I was contemplating the destruction of Jerusalem in 70AD this morning and another parallel with the end of the world occurred to me.

For seven years a man continued to go up and down the streets of Jerusalem, declaring the woes that were to come upon the city. By day and by night he chanted the wild dirge, “A voice from the east; a voice from the west; a voice from the four winds; a voice against Jerusalem and the temple; a voice against the bridegroom and the bride; and a voice against all the people.” This strange being was imprisoned and scourged; but no complaint escaped his lips. To insult and abuse he answered only, “Woe to Jerusalem! woe, woe to the inhabitants thereof!” His warning cry ceased not until he was slain in the siege he had foretold. {GC88 30.3}

Blood on the veil

Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own. – {COL 69.1}

We all know the statement, but Why is this the case?

Lack of inspiration

I had all plans to blog about my studio gear tonight, particularly to share info of what to buy when buying chinarific studio gear.

I got a really awesome deal with mine and I was going to share some tips.

But I got home this afternoon and couldn’t be bothered.

I baked another loaf of bread too, this time with a new brand of flower I hadn’t used before. Instagram photo to follow.

This Sabbath I was pondering sharing of the investigative judgment and the cleansing of the sanctuary for prelims at church. I’ll have to get down and prepare something to share.

The Sabbath School lesson i recorded for the online church was uploaded today. I haven’t watched it and probably won’t, I hate watching myself on film. Photos I can Handel, but video…. I enjoyed the lesson very much so hopefully that came through in my presentation.

Anyhow that’s all for now.

1888 Message and Faith

The knowledge of what the Scripture means when urging upon us the necessity of cultivating faith, is more essential than any other knowledge that can be acquired.{RH, October 18, 1898 par. 7}

Lessons on Faith is a collection of Studies and sermons by A.T.Jones and E.J.Waggoner that was compiled in 1977 from content preached and published from the 1890’s.

Jones and Waggoner distill the content on these topics down to such clear presentations that it can leave no shadow of doubt.

You can also get the content here in PDF. http://www.adventpioneerbooks.com/Text/pioneer/ATJONES/LESSONSONFAITH.PDF

Check out both Sites while you’re there. Advent Audio has some excellent content and Tim Turner works hard to get more and more fresh content up on http://www.adventpioneerbooks.com .

I’ve purchased some audio books from him and they are good quality.
