Blood on the veil

Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own. – {COL 69.1}

We all know the statement, but Why is this the case?

The Sanctuary

So we had to work back late at work this evening because of stock take. While we were going around doing the scan one of my colleagues was quizzing me on what why I believe what I do. He ended up getting me to explain the Sanctuary to him. It was actually very interesting as he repeated back what i was saying and simplified it very clearly which was rather startling.

As SDA’s we believe that the Feast of Yom Kippur, Also known as the day of Atonement or the Cleansing of the Sanctuary has been underway since Oct 22 1844.

And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. (Dan 8:14)

That the sins of those who accept Christ by faith are transferred buy merit of his blood to the sanctuary and the record of them is on/against the veil that hangs between the Holy and Most Holy Place. Since 1844 Christ has commenced the work of removing the record of those sins and he will not return until the last Christian’s character is perfected and his Sins are blotted out.

My colleague described the matter along the lines of “So Jesus is cleaning the curtains in heaven and you guys are still messing them up, and he can’t come back until you stop making them dirty.”

 Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of Christ shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim them as His own.  {COL 69.1}

It was fascinating to see someone who doesn’t profess any flavor of Christianity grasp a concept that so many other Christians fail to understand.

The Feast Days

The Feast days

And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done. Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre; And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive. And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. Luk 24:13-27

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1Co 5:7-8
